Meet Dr. Fernandes | The Game Room
Dr. Richard Fernandes was born in Montreal, Quebec, but has resided in the Toronto area his entire life. He attended the University of Toronto where he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in 2000 and completed a Bachelor of Education degree in 2001.
In 2001, he had the great opportunity to attend Columbia University in New York City to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2005. Upon his graduation, he was awarded a Leadership Award from the New York State Dental Society. Living in New York, he had the opportunity to enjoy the fast pace of life in Manhattan and enjoy all the city has to offer.
In 2005, Dr. Fernandes was accepted in the combined Orthodontics and Dental Public Health Masters program at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he had the chance to study under some of the renowned faculty who have made the program famous. He had the opportunity to be introduced to some of the newest techniques and technologies in Orthodontics such as Invisalign and Mini-implant technology. Living in the great city of Boston, Dr. Fernandes was introduced to the passion of Red Sox fans and the beauty of life in New England. Upon returning to Canada, he attained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Orthodontics in 2008.
Dr. Fernandes is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Canadian Association of Orthodontists and a member in good standing of Royal College of Dentists of Ontario and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, trying new restaurants, skiing and playing soccer.
Dr. Fernandes is committed to providing the highest standard of care for both his adult and adolescent patients. He strives to give patients the best quality experience and is always there to teach patients about Orthodontics and help them achieve the happy and healthy smile they deserve.
